454 government law officers appointed in Ctg, Sylhet
Of the total prosecutors, 351 were appointed in Chattogram while the rest in Sylhet
The government has appointed 454 law officers in different courts in Chattogram and Sylhet.
The Law Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry issued separate notifications in this regard on Thursday (17 October).
Of the total prosecutors, 351 were appointed in Chattogram while the rest in Sylhet.
Government pleaders, additional government prosecutors, public prosecutors, additional public prosecutors, special prosecutors and assistant prosecutors are among the law officers.
According to the notices, signed by deputy solicitor (government pleader-public prosecutor) Sana Md Mahruf Hossain, District and Sessions Judge Court, Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court and their subordinate courts, Divisional Special Judge Court and various tribunals have been relieved from the duties of their respective posts after cancelling the appointment orders of all the law officers appointed earlier in the two districts.
They were temporarily appointed in accordance with the provisions of Section 492 of 1898 and Rule 1 of Chapter 2 of The Legal Remembrance Manual, 1960, it said.
The order will come into effect immediately.
