50 villages in Ctg celebrating Eid-ul-Adha today
Essentially, the followers of Mirzakhil Darbar Sharif in Satkania upazila and Mumtazia Darbar Sharif in Chandanaish upazila celebrate the festival every year following the celebration date in Saudi Arabia
Some 50 villages in Chattogram have been celebrating Eid-ul-Adha today in conformity with the practice followed in Saudi Arabia.
Around one lakh people, hailed from Chandanaish, Satkania, Lohagara , Banshkhali, Anwara, Sitakunda, Patiya and several other upazilas in Chattogram, attended the Eid congregation today.
Essentially, the followers of Mirzakhil Darbar Sharif in Satkania upazila and Mumtazia Darbar Sharif in Chandanaish upazila celebrate the festival every year following the celebration date in Saudi Arabia.
Eid prayers, this year, were performed inside the mosques following the health guidelines in order to prevent the transmission of coronavirus amid ongoing global pandemic.
However, the two principal Eid congregations were held at 8:30am at Mumtazia Darbar Sharif premises and at 9am at Satkania's Mirzakhil Darbar Sharif premises.
Nearly two thousand cattle were sacrificed by the followers of these two darbar sharifs as a part of the ritual.
Besides them, followers from Boalkhali, Hathazari, Sandwip, Fatikchhari, Alikadam in Bandarban, Naikhongchari, Teknaf in Cox's Bazar, Maheshkhali and Kutubdia have also been celebrating Eid today.
