6 held with fake notes worth Tk50 lakh

Detective Branch members of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested six persons and seized counterfeit notes worth around Tk50 lakh from a building in Kamrangirchar, on the outskirt of the capital, on Monday.
The arrestees are Saiful Islam alias Rony, 31, Giyas Uddin, 36, Azahar Ali, 39, Asif, 27, Jibon Bepari, 29 and Forkan, 27.

The law enforcers also seized two laptops and four colour printers from their possession.
Shahidul Islam, assistant commissioner of DB north, said the gang used to sell Tk1 lakh in fake notes in exchange for only Tk8,000 to their agents in the country.
A case was filed with Kamrangirchar Police Station in this connection.
