6 injured as Anti-Discrimination Student Movement factions clash in Sunamganj
At least six people have been injured in a clash between two factions of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Sunamganj during an introductory meeting of the newly formed district committee.
The meeting was set to take place at the Hasan Raja Auditorium of District Shilpakala at 11:30am today (14 November). However, tensions arose as students began gathering at the venue earlier in the morning.
At the scheduled time, one faction entered the auditorium, protesting alleged exclusion from the new committee, while the opposing faction blocked their entry, sparking a conflict.
Both groups accused each other of using local weapons during the clash, resulting in injuries to at least six individuals from both sides.
Nazmul Haque, officer-in-charge of Sadar Model Police Station, said, "The two groups clashed over the event of students. Several from both sides injured in the incident. Later, police and army personnel arrived the scene and calmed the situation."
