6 killed as bus, autorickshaw collide in Sherpur
All the deceased were riding on the CNG-run autorickshaw, said fire service officials
At least six people, including three women, were killed in a collision between a bus and a CNG-run autorickshaw in Sherpur's Sadar upazila, according to media reports.
The accident took place at the Ghatshala portion of the Sherpur-Mymensingh highway at 11:30am today (29 December).
The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately. All the deceased were riding on the CNG-run autorickshaw, said fire service officials.
They said the CNG-run autorickshaw was going towards Sherpur, while a bus of Rifat Paribahan was coming from Sherpur and moving towards Dhaka.
The accident occurred when the bus of Rifat Paribahan collided head-on with the CNG-run autorickshaw, killing five on the spot.
Another person died after reaching the hospital. One was injured in the incident, who was rescued by the fire service officials and sent to hospital.
