99 freedom fighters’ mothers in Narsingdi receive Ratnagarbha Awards
The district administration presented certificates of honor, uttoriyo (celebratory scarf) and blankets to the award recipients
Mothers of 99 freedom fighters in Narsingdi on Friday have received Ratnagarbha Awards, whose children had joined the liberation war in 1971 and freed the country from enemies.
The award giving ceremony was held at the Shilpakola Academy hall room today as a part of district administration's five-day program on the occasion of the upcoming Victory Day.
Syeda Farhana Kawnine, Deputy Commissioner of Narsingdi, presented certificates of honors, uttoriyo (celebratory scarf), floral bouquets and blankets to the award recipients.
Narsingdi district administration accorded the award to the Ratnagarbha women (Mothers of distinguished children).
The deputy commissioner, later, spoke at a discussion program, presided over by Narsingdi Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer AHM Jamery Hasan.
Syeda Farhana Kawnine said that they are the world's best mothers who had sent their children to join war to free the country from enemy and get an independent nation. The women did not pay attention to their own loss.
The district administration is proud of being able to accord award to them, the DC added.
