ACC finds irregularities at BMDA in Rajshahi
“We have found initial evidence of irregularities at BMDA, involving almost Tk7 crore"
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) found initial evidences of irregularities at the Barind Multipurpose Development Authority (BMDA) in Rajshahi, involving almost Tk7 crore, during a raid on Thursday.
“We have found initial evidence of irregularities at BMDA, involving almost Tk7 crore; there have been serious irregularities in cases of procurement through quotation and leasing mango orchard” said Alamgir Hossain, assistant director at the ACC district office in Rajshahi.
A three-member ACC team, led by Alamgir Hossain, raided BMDA, an organisation under the ministry of agriculture, following the direction of Masudur Rahman, Deputy Director (enforcement) at ACC.
According to ACC sources, irregularities amounting to Tk6,69,85,579 were detected during audit of the BMDA’s annual financial records from 2012 to 2017.
