Advisers, student movement coordinators greet Khaleda at Armed Forces Day event
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia was greeted by the leaders of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement today when she made her first public appearance in six years at the Armed Forces Day reception.
Advisers Nahid Islam, Asif Mahmud and a key coordinator of the student movement Sarjis Alam were seen exchanging pleasantries with the former prime minister.
They also enquired about her health.
The former prime minister left her Gulshan residence around 3:30pm and reached Senakunja at around 3:45pm, said Shairul Kabir Khan, a member of BNP's media cell.
The last time she attended the Armed Forces Day reception was in 2012.
In a Facebook post this evening, chief adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam shared a video of the meeting and wrote, "When the student leaders of the 2024 mass uprising meet the leader of the 1990 anti-Junta movement. And the meeting place is Dhaka Cantonment."
