‘July Proclamation must guide future constitutional and legal frameworks’
The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the National Citizens' Committee have called on the interim government to ensure that the July Proclamation serves as the foundation for future constitutional and legal frameworks.
"In consultation with the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, the National Citizen Committee, and the participants of the uprising, the date for the public announcement of the proclamation should be determined promptly," reads a joint statement issued by the two organisations last night (15 January).
In the statement, the leaders of the organisations said, "This proclamation must clearly outline the historical context and the defining principles of the July uprising. Additionally, it is crucial to ensure that this proclamation serves as a foundational framework for future constitutional and legal reforms."
They also criticised the interim government for delaying the announcement date for July Proclamation.
