Ansar members stage demo on Airport Road for job regularisation
Ansar members started protesting on the road around 9:30pm, Airport Police Station Officer-in-Charge Ershad Ahmed says
The Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Party (VDP) members staged a sit-in at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport area on Thursday (22 August) night, demanding the regularisation of their jobs.
"Ansar members started protesting on the road around 9:30pm. This caused traffic to come to a standstill," Airport Police Station Officer-in-Charge Ershad Ahmed told The business Standard.
They blocked the Airport Road for about two hours, he said, adding that the protesting Ansar members cleared the road around 11:30pm at the request of the police.
