Ansar's top brass sees changes with transfers of 19 high-ups
Among the transferred officials, nine are deputy director generals and 10 are of director rank
The interim government has brought changes to the top brass of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP, transferring 19 top officials of the force overnight.
Among the transferred officials, nine are deputy director generals and 10 are of director rank.
The transfer order will be effective immediately, said two separate government circulars issued from the Ansar-1 section of home ministry's public security division on orders of the president.
The changes come after Ansar members clashed with students at the Secretariat area last night (25 August).
Ansar members had blocked the Secretariat and blocked those inside from coming out.
A Co-ordinator of Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Hasnat Abdullah went live on facebook and informed that he along with some other co-ordinators had been confined at the Secretariat since yesterday noon by the Ansar members.
Following his live video, many students went to the area to rescue them. The students were attacked by the Ansar members at first, but later the students chased them away from there.
Ansar members have been demanding for the nationalisation of their jobs since the fall of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
