Ashraful Alam Khokan submits resignation letter

Ashraful Alam Khokan, deputy press secretary of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, has resigned from his post citing his educational ambitions.
Showing his gratitudes to the prime minister and the government, Khokan confirmed the matter in a post on his verified Facebook page.
His post reads, "Today, 28th February, 2021, I have applied for resignation from my post as there is no provision of education leave in contract-based recruitment."
Khokan obtained a scholarship on "Journalism, Media Studies and Public Relations" at Hofstra University.
Khokan, former general secretary of Dhaka University Journalists Association, has been serving as the PM's deputy press secretary for over seven years.
He was first appointed as the PM's deputy press secretary in 2013 for one year and later it was extended.
