Attorney general hopes Hasina will come back and face trial
He said there are various ways to bring back Hasina to the country
Attorney General Md Asaduzzaman has hoped that former prime minister Sheikh Hasina will return to Bangladesh to face trial, like she used to tell her adversaries while she was in power.
Asaduzzaman made the remark while speaking to journalists at his office at the Supreme Court today (20 October).
He said there are various ways to bring back Hasina to the country.
"The foreign ministry can take steps to bring her back. There are ways to engage Interpol, too. We are thinking about possible ways," the attorney general said.
The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has issued an arrest warrant against Sheikh Hasina to put her on trial for her involvement in the killing of students and people during the July uprising on Thursday (17 October).
The ICT has issued another arrest warrant against Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader and 44 others.
