Attorney General Mahbubey Alam laid to rest
He was hospitalised with high fever on September 4 and later tested positive for Covid-19
Eminent chief legal officer and Attorney General Mahbubey Alam has been laid to rest at the Martyred Intellectuals' Graveyard in Mirpur.
Following health guidelines, the burial was completed in the presence of his relatives.
Earlier at 11:30am, his namaz-e-janaza was held at the Supreme Court premises where his colleagues, politicians, friends and well-wishers paid their last respect.
Mahbubey Alam, who had been suffering from Covid-19, passed away at a hospital in the capital on Sunday evening at the age of 71.
He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
The attorney general, who was undergoing treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) breathed his last at 7:25pm, his son Sumon Mahbub said in a Facebook post.
