BAF officers’ promotion board meeting held
Consider the officers’ performance in the field, ability to command and make quick decisions along with using “Trace Tabulated Record and Comparative Evaluation,” PM tells the board
A four-day meeting of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) officers' promotion board concluded on Thursday at its headquarters in the capital.
Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat chaired the meeting, reads an Inter Services Public Relation Directorate (ISPR) statement.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the meeting on September 7 and gave her guidance to the board members through video conference.
Sheikh Hasina told them to consider the officers' performance in the field, ability to command or lead and make quick decisions along with using the "Trace Tabulated Record and Comparative Evaluation" method.
So, patriotic officers who commanded successfully and have a strong commitment to democracy, independence, and the spirit of the liberation war were nominated for promotion.
Also, professionalism, skills, qualifications, discipline, obedience, honesty and loyalty of the officers were given importance.
During the meeting, the board decided to promote eligible officers from the rank of squadron leader to wing commander, wing commander to group captain and group captain to air commodore.
Principal staff officers, air officer commanding of different air force bases and other air officers were present in the said board.
