Bangladeshi-American Arshad Mansoor elected EPRI CEO

US-based research and development organisation, Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) recently elected Bangladesh-born Arshad Mansoor as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the firm.

EPRI board of directors unanimously elected Mansoor as the next CEO, according to the Cision PR Newswire.

Arshad Mansoor's new role in the company will be effective from January 1, 2021, following the retirement of current CEO Michael Howard on December 31 of this year.

Mansoor will continue in his role as president in EPRI, a position he has had since November 2019.

Arshad Mansoor completed his bachelor's degree from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), and went on to earn a doctoral degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas, Austin.

He also completed the Harvard Advanced Management Program and the MIT Reactor Technology course.

Mansoor joined EPRI in 2006 as vice president for power delivery and has since held numerous leadership positions throughout EPRI.

Immediately prior to his current role, he served as senior vice president of research and development, overseeing a broad-based EPRI research portfolio enhancing global electricity generation, delivery, and use around the world.
