Barishal board’s HSC pass rate reaches to 81.85%
Out of the 66,087 students who appeared for the exam, 54,089 successfully passed, while 4,167 students secured the highest grade, GPA-5
The Barishal Education Board recorded an 81.85% pass rate in the 2024 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination.
Out of the 66,087 students who appeared for the exam, 54,089 successfully passed, while 4,167 students secured the highest grade, GPA-5.
The statistics were presented at a press conference today (15 October) by Professor Arun Kumar Gain, controller of examinations of the Barishal Education Board.
A total of 31,993 male students and 34,094 female students took part in the exam this year.
Among the passed candidates, 24,367 were male, and 29,722 were female, with female students outperforming their male counterparts in both the pass rate and GPA-5 achievements.
Compared to last year, the number of GPA-5 achievers increased by 174. In 2023, the pass rate was 80.65%, which has risen to 81.85% this year.
Jhalokathi district led the board in terms of the highest pass rate, according to the board's statistics. Notably, 21 educational institutions achieved a 100% pass rate, and no institution recorded a complete failure.
Chairman of the Barishal Education Board, Professor Md Yunus Ali Siddiqui, congratulated students, teachers, and parents on the excellent results.
"This success has been achieved through the hard work of the students, proper guidance from teachers, and the unwavering support of parents," he said.
