B’baria lawyers to continue protests till Thursday
Judicial activities at all courts in the district have been suspended since 1 January due to the protest
The Brahmanbaria District Lawyers' Association has announced to continue boycotting court activities for three more days demanding the removal of two judges, including the district judge, and an official.
The lawyers' body took the decision at a meeting on Monday.
"The pre-announced court boycott programme has ended for today. However, as our demand has not been met, we have decided to continue the protest for three more days," Tanvir Bhuiyan, president of the association, told the media Monday.
Judicial activities at all courts in the district have been suspended since 1 January due to the protest.
The protesting lawyers demand the removal of District Judge Sharmin Nigar, Brahmanbaria Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-1 Judge Mohammad Faruk and Court's Nazir Mominul Islam Chowdhury.
