Bills on publishing HSC, equivalent results placed in JS
The proposal has been approved to send it to the Standing Committee on the Ministry of Education for submission of test report within the next one day
Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni has placed Secondary and Higher Secondary Technical and Madrasa Education Board Acts Bills (Amendment) to parliament that will pave the way to publish the results of HSC and equivalent examinations.
These bills are- 'Intermediate and Secondary Education (Amendment) Bill, 2021', 'Bangladesh Technical Education Board (Amendment) Bill, 2021' and 'Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board (Amendment) Bill, 2021'.

The Committee was asked to submit its reports on 'Intermediate and Secondary Education (Amendment) Bill, 2021' within one day while 'Bangladesh Technical Education Board (Amendment) Bill, 2021' and 'Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board (Amendment) Bill, 2021' within two days.
It was proposed to promulgate three ordinances amending 'Intermediate and Secondary Education Ordinance 1961', 'Bangladesh Technical Education Board Act 2018' and 'Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board Act 2020' to publish the results of the HSC and its equivalent examinations candidates.
As per the existing laws, there is no provision to publish the results of the HSC and its equivalent examinations without holding examinations.
Since it was not possible to hold examinations amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the amendment bills were placed.
Earlier on last week, Cabinet gave the nod to amend related laws in parliament during its upcoming session to enable publication of the HSC results.
The related Acts are--the Intermediate and Secondary Education Ordinance-1961, Bangladesh Vocational Education Board Act-2018 and Madrasa Education Board Act-2020.
The 11th session of 11th parliament began on Monday. The amendment bill was placed in the House on the first day today.
Earlier, the ministry said a new ordinance needed to announce the results.
On 29 December last year, Dipu Moni said the results were ready and they were waiting for the declaration of a new ordinance as the existing law did not support the announcement of results without exams.
Earlier on 7 October that year, the minister announced that the HSC results would be published by December.
