Chattogram jute mill workers have started hunger strike unto death from the morning today to press home their eleven-point charter of demands including payment of arrears.
The strike began from 10am in front of the main gate of state-owned jute mill - Amin Jute Mill, where workers of nine more jute mills also joined.
"We went on this indefinite strike as a part of the strike of the jute mill workers across the country," said Kamal Uddin, CBA office secretary of Amin Jute Mill.
Earlier, different medium of protests including - gate meeting, hunger procession, symbolic hunger, demonstration, work abstention, were staged countrywide by the jute mill workers to press home their demands.
Protesting workers urged the Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation (BJMC) to meet their 11-point demand.
