Chittagong Chamber donates patrol car to CMP

Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry has donated a patrol car to the Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP)
Mahbubul Alam, president of the business association handed over the car to CMP Commissioner Saleh Mohammad Tanvir at the CMP office in the port city on Thursday, said a press statement.
Director, Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Ohid Siraj Chowdhury Shwapan, and Member Secretary, Community Policing, Amena Begum; Additional Commissioner (Administration), CMP, Shyamol Kumar Nath; Additional Commissioner (Crime & Operation), SM Mostaq Ahmed Khan; Additional Commissioner (Traffic), were present on the occasion among others.
Speaking at the event, Mahbubul Alam said several humanitarian initiatives had been undertaken amid the Covid-19 pandemic, including setting up of free Covid-19 sample collection booths, and selling daily essentials at lower prices for low-income residents of the port city.
He was hopeful that the new car would help police boost their patrol activities in the city.
CMP Commissioner, Saleh Mohammad Tanvir, said the new patrol car would contribute to the modernization of the police department, significantly upgrading their operations.
