CHT adviser calls for unity and equality
“The hills belong to all of us. We will safeguard and nurture them while ensuring everyone’s rights are upheld,” he said
People of the plains and the hills have been living together in the country for generations and will continue to do so, Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Adviser Supradip Chakma said today (12 October).
"This country embodies values of equality, friendship, harmony, and camaraderie. We must nurture and adhere to these principles," Supradip said, while visiting the puja mandap at Jagannath University, erstwhile Jagannath Hall of Dhaka University where the adviser pursued higher education.
He urged all citizens to foster unity and protect rights on behalf of everyone, stating: "The hills belong to all of us. We will safeguard and nurture them while ensuring everyone's rights are upheld."
Reflecting on his time at Dhaka University, he recalled, "During my studies, I spent over five years in this Jagannath Hall. It is my cherished place. I believe my journey to this point has been possible because I had the opportunity to stay here."
Prior to visiting the Jagannath Hall, he toured the puja mandaps at Siddheswari Kali Mandir and Ramna Kali Mandir.
