Constitution Reform Commission holds meeting with leaders of professional bodies
This was the commission's fifth consecutive meeting
The Constitution Reform Commission held a fresh meeting today (17 November) with the leaders of different professional bodies as part of its view exchange with the stakeholders over the reform of the constitution.
This was the commission's fifth consecutive meeting, held in the cabinet room of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
Participants included Supreme Court Bar Association President Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon, Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) Secretary General Kader Gani Chowdhury, Shahidul Islam, Advocate Shafikul Islam, FBCCI representative Nasrin Chowdhury, Chowdhury Mokimuddin KJ Ali, Jamil Uddin Milton, Engineer Kabir Hossain, and Engineer Gias Uddin.
The meeting was chaired by the commission's Chairman Professor Ali Riaz, and attended by members Prof Sumaiya Khayer, Barrister Imran Siddique, Prof Muhammad Ekramul Haque, Dr Sharif Bhuiyan, Barrister M Moin Alam Ferozi, Firoz Ahmed, and Md Mustain Billah.
The commission has previously met with leaders of various professional bodies, constitutional experts, eminent citizens, and representatives of rights organisations to discuss constitutional reform.
It plans to hold similar meetings with other individuals and groups in the coming days.
