Controlling Covid-19 was not a magic: Health minister
The Covid-19 situation has been brought under control by the virtue of hard work of the authorities concerned, there was no other magic, said Health Minister Zahid Maleque.
"The factories are running as coronavirus situation is under control. As a result, people have not been unemployed, remittances are inflowing, international travelling is still allowed, import and export trade are going on, and no food shortage has taken place," he said while addressing a programme at Manikgank Municipality auditorium on Saturday afternoon.
Regarding the coronavirus vaccine, the minister said, "Bangladesh is the sixth out of 200 countries in the world to launch mass-vaccination."
He also mentioned that 90% beds of different hospital's Covid-19 wards are vacant, while the percentage is 70% for ICUs.
