2 siblings with disabilities raped in Jatrabari

Two sisters with disabilities have been raped by their neighbour in Dhaka's Jatrabari.
The victims — a 16-year-old and an eight-year-old with speech impairments — are currently receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said Inspector Md Faruk, in charge of the DMCH police outpost.
The victims' mother, a street vendor, said she and her husband were at work when the suspected rapist, Md Rezaul Karim, 50, a tenant on the ground floor of the same building, entered their home around 8pm on Wednesday and raped her daughters.

She said hearing the children's screams, neighbours rushed in and rescued them.
"Later, with my neighbours, I took them to the emergency department of DMCH at 12:25am," she added.
