Conviction rate in ACC cases was 74% in 2019
The Anti-Corruption Commission also pressed charges in 311 cases last year
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) said they had a nearly 74 percent conviction rate last year.
The commission investigated a total of 394 cases in 2019, said ACC Commissioner Mozammel Haque.
"We pressed charges in 311 corruption cases and busted a total of 26 bribe exchanges last year," Mozammel said at a seminar in Bogura on Friday.

He said the commission's hotline has received a total of 32 lakh complaints so far, after it was introduced in 2017. "We are looking into those seriously," he said.
Citing a manpower crisis, Mozammel said, "We need 2,200 employees, but we currently have only 1,200."
The commissioner said they installed "Satata Store" (Integrity Store) at schools in a bid to raise anti-corruption awareness among kids.
Further emphasising awareness building, Mozammel said anti-corruption sentiment should be instilled in children's minds so that they can build a corruption-free country.
Japan International Cooperation Agency (Jica) Alumni Association of Bangladesh organised the seminar.
