Cooperatives’s dept to lead implementing 'three-zero, social business' concepts of CA: Adviser Asif
The Department of Cooperatives (DOC) will play a leading role in implementing the"three-zero" theory and "social business" concepts of Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus, Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperative Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain said today.
The "three zero" theory is a globally adopted social and economic vision which means zero poverty, zero unemployment and zero carbon emission, said Asif, also the adviser of the ministry of youth and sports, at a views exchange meeting with the officials and employees of the Department of Cooperatives (DOC) today.
The adviser asked all officials and employees of the department to work to implement the "three-zero" theory and the concept of "social business".
He said the institutional activities and performance of the department of cooperatives seems to be on the decline, but measures must be taken to improve it.
Asking the concerned officials to amend the cooperatives act to make it time befitting, the adviser emphasised taking necessary measures to fill up the vacancies as soon as possible.
The adviser instructed the officials to take pilot projects to connect all members of the department under a network to control commodity prices.
He also expressed hope that the department of cooperatives will play an important role in the socio-economic development of the country and balanced distribution of resources.
At the beginning Joint Registrar Mohammad Helal Uddin made a multimedia presentation on cooperative activities.
With the Registrar and Director General of the Department of Cooperatives Md Shariful Islam in the chair, Rural Development and Co-operatives Division Secretary Md Mokhlesur Rahman spoke as special guest.
