Rural dev board to be upgraded to directorate: Adviser Asif
The adviser said more dynamism should be brought into the official activities of the BRDB
The Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB) will be converted into a directorate to work more effectively on a large scale to improve people's living standards in rural areas, Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan said today.
Asir, adviser to the ministry of local, government and rural development, was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the two-day Deputy Director Conference-2025, organised by the BRDB in Dhaka.
He also said, "One of the main objectives of the July mass uprising is political, economic, and social emancipation of all including the rural and marginalised population of Bangladesh.
"Measures will be taken to strengthen BRDB and transform it into a directorate," he added.
The adviser said more dynamism should be brought into the official activities of the BRDB.
He instructed the officials to fill the vacant posts and promote eligible candidates.
Adviser Asif asked the BRDB officials to make people in rural areas self-reliant by providing credit assistance and more training.
He also urged all officers and employees to work together to implement the 'Three-Zero Theory' of the chief adviser and eliminate rural poverty.
