ACC seizes Tk29 lakh from CMCH 4 bank accounts

The Anti-Corruption Commission has seized Tk29.47 lakh from four bank accounts of Chattogram Medical College and Hospital (CMCH).
The money was seized from the hospital's bank accounts in CMCH branch of Agrani Bank on Sunday.
ACC Chattogram Zone-2 Deputy Assistant Director Sharif Uddin confirmed the information to the media.
The commission is also looking into different other issues of the hospital, he said.
Laxman Chandra Das, manager, Agrani Bank branch in Chattogram Medical College and Hospital, said: "The ACC officials have asked them to provide information about the hospital's third grade welfare fund, staff canteen fund and nursing welfare fund and we gave them the information."
Sources said over the last few days, ACC had been looking into different anomalies in Chattogram Medical College and Hospital (CMCH).
On 25 and 26 November, the anti-graft watchdog interrogated a former deputy director and some incumbent officials and employees of the hospital.
