Former health DG claims himself successful
ACC interrogated Abul Kalam Azad on Thursday over Regent Hospital scam
Professor Dr Abul Kalam Azad, former director general (DG) at the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), has claimed that he was successful during his stint.
He made the claim after coming out of the Anti-Corruption Commission's (ACC) head office in the capital's Shegunbagicha on Thursday.
Avoiding the question regarding corruption in the health sector, he told the media that propaganda is being spread against him to tarnish his image.
"The government had appointed me for the second time after being satisfied with my work," he claimed.
The anti-graft watchdog interrogated Abul Kalam Azad for 5 hours over the Regent Hospital scam.
A team, led by ACC Director Sheikh Mohammed Fanafillah, quizzed him for the second day in a row.
On Wednesday, the commission interrogated Azad over the N95 mask and PPE scam.
Azad claimed that he is an honest and sincere officer. He himself wants punishment to those who are involved in corruption.
