‘Country lost a friend’
He wrote the words in a book to pay his last tribute to Sir Fazle Hasan Abed at the Army Stadium in the capital.
Nobel Laureate Dr Muhammad Yunus said the countrymen lost a friend with the demise of Sir Fazle Hasan Abed.
"Abed and the history of Bangladesh are two peas in a pod. With his demise, the country has lost a friend. The countrymen will forever remember his contributions with gratitude and thankfulness," he wrote in his tribute.

Sir Fazle Hasan Abed, founder and chairman emeritus of BRAC, passed away on December 20 at Apollo Hospitals in Dhaka. He was suffering from brain tumour.
Family members, friends, colleagues and people from all walks of life paid their last tributes to Sir Abed after the body was taken to Army Stadium at 10:30am today.
He will be laid to rest in Banani graveyard following a namaz-e-janaza at 12:30pm.
