Country’s economy in good condition: Finance minister
The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase has just approved the export of 50,000 tonnes of granular urea fertiliser to Nepal
Stating that Bangladesh's economy is in a very good position, Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said this trend will continue in the future.
"There is nothing to be nervous about," he told reporters after a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) held online on Wednesday.
The minister said, "No country in the world is witnessing growth, but Bangladesh is still witnessing growth across all indicators. We believe this will continue."

Asked about the government's plans to increase revenue amid the ongoing Covid-19 situation, the minister said, "We have announced the budget as per our plan. We are now reviewing the announced budget. Necessary changes will be made to the revised budget and we still have not lost hope."
The CCGP has approved the export of 50,000 tonnes of granular urea fertiliser to Nepal at the price of around $257 per tonne.
The fertiliser will be exported through a land port after it is bought from Karnaphuli Fertiliser Company Limited.
The committee also approved buying around three lakh additional textbooks for printing, binding, and supplying free secondary level textbooks in the academic year 2021, said Cabinet Division Additional Secretary Abu Saleh Mostafa Kamal after the meeting.
The finance minister said that the reputation of Bangladesh, which depended on imports to meet its own demand, will increase at the international level for exporting urea to Nepal. He said once the main strengths of Singapore's economy was exporting goods after importing them.
