Court asks CID to return 16 valuables belonging to Pori Moni
"If the evidence seized from her is returned to her, there will be no disruption in the investigation"
A Dhaka court has ordered the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to return some valuables, including a Harrier car, an Iphone and a laptop, which were seized from actor Pori Moni's residence as evidence in a case filed under the Narcotics Control Act.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Satyabrata Sikder gave the directive to CID Inspector Kazi Mostafa Kamal after a hearing on Tuesday, said Pori Moni's lawyer Nilanjona Rifat Surovi.
Earlier on Sunday, inspector Kamal, the investigation officer in the case, submitted a report recommending the return of the seized items.
In the report, the IO said, "If the evidence seized from her is returned to her, there will be no disruption in the investigation."
On 15 September, Pori Moni appeared before the court and submitted two separate petitions seeking an order on return of the valuables.
Later, the court verified the ownership and directed the IO to submit a report.
On 1 September, Pori Moni was released from jail on bail, four weeks after the Rapid Action Battalion arrested her.
RAB arrested the actor from her Banani residence during a raid on 4 August.
