Both virtual and normal courts to continue: SC
About 40 judges of the High Court Division expressed their willingness to run the court through physical presence
The Supreme Court (SC) has decided to conduct both normal and virtual courts in the High Court Division.
The decision was taken at a full court meeting held on Thursday at 3 pm after all the judges could not agree to conduct the normal judicial proceedings of the Supreme Court.
Trials will begin in 20-22 high court division benches.
Besides, it was also decided at the meeting that several virtual High Court benches would be introduced as well.
Judges of both the divisions of the Supreme Court took part in a videoconference at the full court meeting chaired by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain.
According to meeting sources, about 40 judges of the High Court Division expressed their willingness to run the court through physical presence.
It was decided at the full court meeting to give virtual benches to those who are not willing to conduct the court through physical presence.
Meanwhile, most judges voted in favour of cancelling the annual vacation leave of 2020.
