Court orders to freeze 15 bank accounts of ex-minister Qamrul

A Dhaka court today (5 February) ordered to freeze 15 bank accounts of former food minister Advocate Qamrul Islam over graft allegations.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The anti-graft body in its plea said there are graft cases pending against the former minister and his bank accounts, which have Tk 3,55,10,183, should be frozen for the sake of proper investigation.
Advocate Qamrul Islam was arrested from a house in the capital's Uttara-12 area on 18 November 2024, and is now behind bars as he have been shown arrested in a couple of cases filed over crimes committed in July-August mass uprising.
