Eden College BCL President Riva placed on 2-day remand over attack on DU students
A Dhaka court today placed Tamanna Jasmin Riva, president of Eden Mohila College unit of the banned organisation Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), on a two-day remand.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mostafizur Rahman granted the remand in a case filed over allegations of attacking Dhaka University (DU) students.
Detectives arrested Riva last night and produced her before the court today seeking a ten-day remand.
Abu Sayad Bin Mahin Sarker, a student of Ziaur Rahman Hall of DU filed the case with the Shahbag Police Station in which 391 Awami League and Chhatra League supporters were accused.
Riva's lawyer opposed the remand plea and sought bail.
After the hearing, the court granted atwo-day remand for Riva.
Riva is a student of the 2009-10 academic session in the college's Department of Marketing.
