Hearing on Sikder brothers’ application adjourned for 3 days
Earlier, hearing on the plea began on August 9 and was adjourned for two weeks
The Appellate Division has adjourned the hearing on Sikder brothers' application for permission to appeal – against the High Court's bail plea rejection order – for three days.
An Appellate Division bench led by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain passed the order on Sunday.
Earlier on July 28, Sikder Group Managing Director Ron Haque Sikder and his brother Dipu Haque Sikder sought permission to challenge their bail rejection order issued by the High Court.

Sayed Ahmed Raja, lawyer of Sikder brothers, filed the plea with the Appellate Division.
Hearing on the plea began on August 9 and was adjourned for two weeks.
Earlier on July 19, the Sikder brothers filed an anticipatory bail plea with the High Court from Bangkok in a case filed on charges of abducting, torturing, and threatening to shoot two top Exim Bank officials.
And the High Court rejected the bail plea on July 20.
Also, the court asked the accused to provide 10,000 units of personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Prime Minister's Relief and Welfare Fund within two weeks for illegally applying for bail while staying abroad.
The two brothers escaped the country using the pretext of medical evacuation with recommendations from ZH Sikder Women's Medical College and Hospital in Dhaka and Bumrungrad International Hospital in Bangkok.
To use an air ambulance, two recommendations – one from a local medical centre and another from a foreign one – are required to get the permission of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh.
Upon receiving recommendations from the two hospitals, the civil aviation authority allowed medical evacuation for them through an air ambulance of R&R Aviation Limited, a sister concern of the Sikder Group.
And then the government agencies pointed fingers at one another over the escape of the two fugitives.
