Husband serves legal notice to DSCC over wife's dengue fever
Advocate Tanzim Al Islam wrote in the notice that his wife Sadiq-un-Nahar was suffering from dengue fever because of the city corporation's failure to eradicate mosquitoes
A Supreme Court lawyer on Thursday served a legal notice to the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), seeking Tk50 lakh in compensation for his wife’s dengue fever.
Advocate Tanzim Al Islam wrote in the notice that his wife Sadiq-un-Nahar was suffering from dengue fever because of the city corporation's failure to eradicate mosquitoes.
He wrote that the DSCC has to take responsibility for his wife’s disease because of its failure to eliminate mosquitoes in the area where the couple lives.
Describing his wife’s situation, Tanzim wrote she was diagnosed with dengue fever on June 29 and received treatment in hospital for five days, but had not fully recovered yet.
Tanzim, a resident of Khilgaon ward 1, also requested the authority to take effective measures within the next three days to exterminate mosquitoes in his area.
