OC Pradeep’s bail hearing set for 27 June
Sinha was shot by police at Shamlapur police check post on the Cox's Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive on 31 July
A Cox's Bazar court has set 27 June for the hearing of former Teknaf police officer-in-charge Pradeep Kumar Das' bail in the Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan's murder.
Public Prosecutor of Cox's Bazar district court Advocate Faridul Alam said, "Pradeep's lawyer pleaded for his bail and the date for the hearing was decided by Judge Md Ismail."
A panel of lawyers led by Advocate Rana Dasgupta came to court for the hearing of his bail plea which was argued by Pradeep's lawyer Mohiuddin.
Pradeep requested bail four days after he was transferred from Chattogram jail to Cox's Bazar jail on 10 June.
He stayed in Chattogram jail for seven months.
Sinha was shot by police at Shamlapur police check post on the Cox's Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive on 31 July.
After being informed, the then Teknaf OC Pradeep turned up to the scene and delayed taking the bullet-hit Sinha to hospital.
Later on 5 August, Sinha's sister Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous filed a murder case against nine people, including Pradeep.
