Report in cases against Hasina, Joy over plot scam on 15 April

A Dhaka court today (15 January) set 15 April for submitting reports in two separate cases filed against ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy for taking resort to irregularities in acquiring two 10-katha plots in the Purbachal New Town project.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the orders, accepting first information reports (FIRs) in the cases.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the two cases on 14 January.
In one case, eight people, including Sheikh Hasina, were made accused. The other accused in the case are- Purobi Goldar, Md Anisur Rahman Miah, Shafi Ul Haque, Mohammad Nasir Uddin, Major (Retd) Samsuddin Ahmed Chowdhury, Khurshid Alam and Nayeb Ali Sharif.
In another case, 15 people, including Sheikh Hasina and Sajeeb Wazed Joy, were made accused. The other accused are- Md Saiful Islam Sarkar, Purobi Goldar, Qazi Wasi Uddin, Md Shahid Ullah Khandaker, Md Anisur Rahman Miah, Mohammad Khurshid Alam, Tanmay Das, Mohammad Nasir Uddin, Major (Retd) Samsuddin Ahmed Chowdhury, Md Qamrul Islam, Mazharul Islam, Nayeb Ali Sharif and Md Nurul Islam.
According to the case documents, Sheikh Hasina, abusing her power, took the allotment of Plots in Rajuk Purbachal New Town Project, despite owning house or flat or having housing facility within the jurisdiction of Rajuk in Dhaka city, in her or her family members' names.
