Writ petition filed to ensure court’s safety
Supreme Court lawyer Ishrat Hasan, also wife of a justice, filed the writ petition after an accused in a murder case stabbed to death another accused of the same case during a trial in a Cumilla court on Monday.
A writ petition was filed on Tuesday with the High Court to seek directives to ensure proper security for all courts and judges.

The HC bench of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahsan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader will hear the petition on July 17.
The cabinet secretary, the law secretary, the home secretary and other authorities concerned have been made defendants in the petition.
The gruesome incident of Monday that caused a nationwide stir took place when the court of the third Additional District and Sessions Judge was hearing a case filed over a 2013 murder in Manoharganj upazila.
