Cox’s Bazar airport resumes operation after 2-month suspension

Flight services resumed in Cox's Bazar airport today after a two-month hiatus due to the second wave of Covid-19.
Two flights of US-Bangla and NovoAir from Dhaka landed in Cox's Bazar around 11:15am.
Cox's Bazar airport manager Al Amin Farooq said the flights would again take-off for Dhaka at noon.

"Two more flights of these airlines are scheduled to arrive in Cox's Bazar in the afternoon. They will return to Dhaka in the evening," he added.
He further said that although no flight of Bangladesh Biman was scheduled for today, the state-run airline will have flights to and from Cox's Bazar from Wednesday.
According to US-Bangla sources, they will operate two daily flights on the Dhaka-Cox's Bazar route from today.
Two flights of Novoair will operate daily from Dhaka at 9:30am and 3:00pm and from Cox's Bazar at 11:05am and 4:35pm in compliance with the Covid-19 health guidelines issued by the government.
Earlier on Monday, Civil Aviation Authority Bangladesh (CAAB) gave permission to Cox's Bazar airport for resuming operations.
CAAB on April 5 had suspended all domestic flights following government directives aimed to curb the spread of Covid-19.
