DMP requests all to not spread disinformation as none killed
Rubbishing statements that students had died amid clashes between students of Dr Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College, Kabi Nazrul Government College and Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College today (25 November), the Dhaka police has said so far 25 were injured.
In a statement issued by DMP Deputy Police Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman, he stated that many had been spreading misinformation on social media saying two students had died, but this was not true.
He requested everyone to stay away from such misinformation.
Earlier, DMRC Managing Director Ashraf Samir in a press release claimed that three of their students had died in the clashes.
He also confirmed the matter over the phone when contacted by The Business Standard.
When contacted, DMRC administration official Obaidur Rahman Mollah told The Business Standard that he did not know about any deaths.
"Many of our students and teachers have been injured. Our principal has issued a press release, but it does not mention any fatalities," he said.
At the time, police also could not confirm whether any student had died or not.
