5 ‘militants’ detained in Rajshahi
RAB claimed to have seized 24 cocktails, one pistol, five-round of bullets, two magazines, jihadi books and notebooks from their possession.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has reportedly arrested five members of the banned militant outfit Ansar al-Islam from Rajshahi’s Puthia upazila on Saturday night.
The detainees are Anisur Rahman alias Saddam, Afroza Begum, Abu Talha, Ruhul Amin and Mamun-Ur-Rashid.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-5 raided Belpukur village in Puthia and detained the five members of the outfit.
RAB claimed to have seized 24 cocktail bombs, a pistol, five rounds of bullets, two magazines, a number of jihadi books and notebooks from their possession.
There are a number of cases filed against the arrested militants and they have been fugitives for a long time, RAB said.
