5,000kg govt rice stolen in Manikganj, two dealers arrested
Two separate cases have been filed against them
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC)has arrested two dealers in Manikganj for allegedly stealing over 5,000kg subsidised rice under the government's food support programme.
Two separate cases have also been filed against them with the integrated district office of the national anti-graft watchdog, confirmed Nazrul Islam, deputy assistant director of the ACC.
The two dealers areMdRafiqul Islam and Abu Bakar Siddique, both being rice dealers under the government's Open Market Sale (OMS) programme in Singair upazila of the district.
Abu Bakar Siddique reportedly embezzled 4,870kg rice while Rafiqul Islam 180kgs.
