Dr Sabrina’s plea for stay order on fraud case
The application also seeks suspension of proceedings of the case
JKG Healthcare chairman Dr Sabrina Arif Chowdhury, who was arrested on charges of cheating on corona tests, has applied to the High Court to stay the proceedings of the case filed at Tejgaon police station on charges of fraud and forgery.
At the same time, she has appealed against the dismissal order seeking relevant documents of the case in the Judicial Court.
Confirming the matter, Sabrina's lawyer advocate Saifuzzaman Tuhin said on Thursday, "Since the case is based on many documents, we appealed to the court for those documents. The court has rejected our application. We have appealed to the High Court against the dismissal order. The application also seeks suspension of proceedings of the case. A hearing on the application could be held next week."
On June 23, Tejgaon police arrested five people including JKG CEO Arif. In this incident, the police filed a case at Tejgaon police station on the charge of fraud and forgery. Police also arrested Dr Sabrina on July 12 when her involvement came to light.
