Ex-AL MP Fazle Karim sued in Chhatra Dal leader murder case in Ctg

A case was filed against former Awami League lawmaker Fazle Karim and 17 others, for their involvement in the 2017 murder of Nurul Alam Nuru, a leader of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (BNP) in Chattogram.
The victim's wife Sumi Akhter, filed the case with Chawkbazar thana last night, Wali Uddin Akbar, officer-in-charge, Chawkbazar Thana confirmed the matter.
Additionally, 30 to 40 unnamed individuals were sued in the case.
The incident took place on 29 March 2017, when Nuru, 40, was allegedly picked up by a group of 10 individuals from his rented residence in the city's Chandanpura area, according to sources.
Among them, five were in police uniform and five others in plain clothes.
Later, he was found dead on the banks of Karnaphuli River under Raozan upazila the following day. His body bore signs of severe torture, with his hands tied with rope and two gunshot wounds on his head.
Sumi Akhter claimed that her husband was tortured and murdered in a pre-planned manner under the orders of Fazle Karim.
