Islamic speaker Amir Hamza held for misinterpreting religion

The police have arrested Mufti Amir Hamja, a popular Islamic speaker, on charge of misinterpreting religion and spreading extremism.
A Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) Unit team of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted a drive in Kushtia and arrested him from there on Monday afternoon, said Asaduzzaman, chief of the CTTC unit.
He said the CTTC is investigating a case filed against Amir Hamja and he has been arrested in connection with it.
He also disclosed that the arrestee was being taken to Dhaka.
