Killers of Adv Saiful will certainly face strict punishment: Adviser Nahid
"The way a lawyer was hacked to death by Chinmoy Krishna’s supporters is unprecedented," Nahid also wrote in a Facebook post
The terrorists who killed Advocate Saiful Islam Alif in Chattogram will certainly face strict punishment, Adviser Nahid Islam said in a Facebook post earlier tonight (26 November).
Referring to the killing of Alfi during a protest over the jailing of former ISKCON leader Chinmoy Krishna Das, he wrote that the way "a lawyer was hacked to death by Chinmoy Krishna's supporters is unprecedented".
Regarding the arrest and jailing of Chinmoy, the adviser wrote, "The interim government has sincerely considered the demands of the minority community from the beginning. But Chinmoy Krishna Das was trying to create communal division by making false and provocative statements in various meetings.
"Despite being charged with sedition, Chinmoy Krishna was holding various meetings instead of taking any legal action. Basically, the main purpose of such activities was to attract the attention of the global media and present Bangladesh and the July uprising as negative. The Indian media has always been carrying out such false propaganda."
Criticising the Indian media coverage of Chinmoy's arrest, he said the fascist Awami League always sought to do communal politics using the minority groups.
"Now, the Indian media is also seeking to create a situation of communal [tension] with false propaganda. But the Bangladesh government will ensure maximum punishment through legal process for the Hinduvta terrorist."
Nahid called on all to stay calm and have patience. "The terrorists will be arrested soon."
