Man beaten to death in Gulistan on suspicion of mugging
A man was beaten to death in an incident of mob lynching, on suspicion of being a mugger, in Gulistan in the capital.
The incident took place in front of Sundarban Square Market in Gulistan at around 7:30pm on Sunday (15 December), Sub-Inspector (SI) of Paltan Police Station Subrata Pal confirmed.
The man, about 30 years old, was rescued by the police after he was seriously injured in the attack and admitted to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

Later, he died in the hospital's emergency department at around 9:30pm while undergoing treatment.
SI Subrata Pal said the deceased was wearing jeans and a full-sleeved shirt.
However, his name and identity could not be known immediately. the police are working to get his identification, the SI added.
